Abstract: Objective: To summarize the location of acupoints used in acupuncture and moxibustion experimental research in recent years, and to provide reference for the standardization of acupoint location in rats. Methods: Retrieval acupuncture literature research in Chinese Journal Full-text Database and PubMed Database from 2012 to 2017 ,to establish the acupoints database in experimental study of rat , statistical and analysis the frequency of acupoints used in the database , and extract the positioning method of acupoint , positioning basis and other related information. Results: a total of 2781 articles were included in the CNKI and PubMed, The frequency of the top 10 in the Chinese literature are Zu Sanli, Bai Hui, Nei Guan, San Ynjiao, Shen Shu, Guan Yuan, Da Zhui, Qu Chi, Zhong Wan, Tai Chong, , the cumulative frequency was about 2874 times. The frequency of the top 10 in English literature of the acupoints are Zu Sanli, Bai Hui, Nei Guan, Da Zhui, San Yinjiao, Shen Shu, TianShu, Shui Gou, Qu Chi, the cumulative frequency was about 432 times. In the Chinese literature, Zu Sanli was most located refer to "experimental acupuncture", the frequency is 59.5%, and the most commonly used method in the English literature is the personification comparison method, with the frequency of 35%. In both of Chinese and English literatures, "5mm under the fibular head" is the most widely used metho to location Zu Sanli.
