AkuData / AcuData, the German database for acupuncture
Braun Thomas (Presenter)
AkuData / AcuData records all the results of basic research studies listed in high-ranking databases, such as Pubmed. At present, more than 1000 are available. In addition, AkuData / AcuData has its own archive to prevent them from being forgotten in the web. Every year, since 2012, an annual report is published in the Schwarzach publishing house. It contains all contents of the database, including those that are not publicly visible. AkuData / AcuData also includes a comprehensive search function, which goes far beyond the mere search for keywords. With the help of online translation techniques, the database can also be viewed in English (currently experimentally also in Chinese).
The goal of AkuData / AcuData is to present the contents of the basic research in a clear and structured way in the search function to the user. The effect of the individual acupuncture points -including their international nomenclature - should also be easily accessible to those who are interested. It is intended to help to raise awareness of the importance of acupuncture / moxibustion in evidence-based medicine and to strengthen its acceptance beyond the specialist circles. Through the structured representation of the search function, the database should also provide a support for scientific work on the subject of acupuncture / moxibustion. The programming of the database is constantly optimized. AkuData / AcuData is a non-profit project - independent of industry or other Donors.
