Abstract:  As a rule of traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture with economic application, no adverse reactions,  lasting  effect  of  the  distinctive  characteristics  of  clinical  treatment  is  easy  to  be  accepted  by patients and doctors. Ulcerative colitis is difficult to cure, and easy to relapse。 the World Health Organization treat it as a modern refractory disease. In recent years, acupuncture and moxibustion treatment of ulcerative colitis  in  the  experimental  study  were  reviewed,  the  experiment  mainly  from  the  acupuncture  and moxibustion immune regulation, inhibition of apoptosis, regulation of intestinal microecology to study. The study found that acupuncture treatment of this disease has advantages, worthy of promotion, analysis of the current research problems and make recommendations.
