Abstract: Objective: To explore the value of using the animal energy metabolism monitoring system (AEMMS) in the study to improve the energy metabolism of acute alcohol liver injury in rat by acupuncture. Methods: 30 rats were divided into control group, model group and EA group randomly. Model group and EA group were gavaged with 50% ethanol (12ml / kg), which were resulting in an animal model of acute alcoholic liver injury. EA group after gavaged was treated 30min each time every day by acupuncture Zusanli(ST -36), and the treatment continued 3 days. To observe the RER, heat, feeding and drinking continuously for 96h in each group at same time by AEMMS. Results: The RER,feeding and drinkingdecreased significantly in rats with ALI,the heat in which increased; There was an increased tendency of the RER, feeding and drinking, and an declined tendency of the heat in model rats by EA intervention. Conclusion: It was indicated that there was a practical value of AEMMS through the study of the energy metabolism of rats with ALI by acupuncture.
