On the morning of Feb 15th, the State Council Information Office held a press conference in Wuhan, Hubei, introducing the progress of COVID-19 prevention and control and the medical treatment in Hubei.

Wang Hesheng, Vice Minister of National Health Commission and member of the Standing Committee of CPC Hubei Committee, introduced, 3 National TCM Medical Teams and  some TCM medical teams from provinces have been dispatched to Hubei, the staff number of which amounts to 2220 people. TCM medical teams carry out integrated treatment of TCM and western medicine while highlighting the characteristics of TCM. Over 50% of the confirmed cases in Hubei have been treated with TCM. TCM also plays an positive role in prevention and control in communities by providing TCM them. 

“We have concentrated resources of TCM and western medicine to enable them to work together to overcome difficulties with mutually complementary advantages, so as to improve the cure rate and reduce the mortality rate. And thus the safety and health of our people can be secured.” Wang Hesheng said.
