The National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine has kept in mind that General Secretary Xi requires us to “put people's life safety and health first”, and adhered to the general tone of strengthening people’s confidence, warming people's hearts and winning people’s support, to create positive publicity and to timely respond to social concerns and public opinion.

NATCM has actively created a public opinion atmosphere of uniting as one to fight the epidemic, and gathered a strong positive energy of overcoming the difficulties with one mind. Special topic columns on NATCM’s website and its new media platform have published more than 500 items of information in total. China News of Traditional Chinese Medicine has published more than 140 articles, focusing on reports of the joint fight against COVID-19 of TCM and western medicine and stories of TCM medical staff.

NATCM has widely popularized scientific protection knowledge, so as to guide the citizens to correctly and rationally understand the epidemic situation and enhance self-prevention awareness and protection ability. Giving full play to the advantages of "Internet + TCM", NATCM has developed an online service platform of TCM, providing home observation guidance, psychological assessment and online consultation, while popularizing TCM knowledge and methods of health preservation during epidemic period in winter and spring at the same time, so that the public would be able to stay calm in the context of various rumors.

NATCM has paid attention to the changes of the epidemic situation at home and abroad to provide references for scientific decision-making. NATCM has issued 35 daily work updates and 39 TCM Work Briefings, edited 23 overseas epidemic situation reports, 27 issues of overseas information, 12 English COVID-19 newsletters, 2 overseas literature references. At the same time, NATCM has strengthened the communication with WHO and the National Health Commission, to highlight the important role of TCM in the epidemic and provide references for global public health. NATCM has maintained close connection with Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR, facilitated the donation to the mainland through channels such as Liaison Offices of the Central People’s Government, and timely informed Hong Kong and Macao about TCM’s role in the epidemic prevention and control, which reflects the deep feeling of looking out for one another hand in hand between siblings. By cooperating with the Red Cross Society of China and the Chinese Red Cross Foundation, NATCM has established a “green channel” for domestic and international donations to TCM system and humanitarian assistance for TCM medical staff participating in prevention, control and medical treatment of COVID-19, and for e people’s livelihood.
