WFAS published 21 International Standards on acupuncture and moxibustion(2023), which were approved by the WFAS Standards Committee and filed by the Executive Committee of WFAS.

WFAS Delegates attend the 8th ISO/TC249 Plenary Meeting

  The 8th ISO/TC249 Plenary Meeting was held in Hong kong from 5th to 8th June. More than two hundred delegates attended the meeting, who came from over thirteen countries including China, Australia, the United States, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Thailand and A-level liaison organizations including WFAS. 

WFAS appointed vice president from Norway and five experts including Zhao Hong, Wang Fang, Wang Jingjing and Liu Jia from China to attend this meeting. Director Zhao Hong from Research Institute of CACMS hosted the meeting of the 3rd Working Group as its temporary convener, discussing four proposals concerning acupuncture-moxibustion. Director Wang Jingjing,who is responsible for the project of “General requirement for the risk control in the safe use of acupuncture”, reported its progressing. 

  Delegates from WFAS actively participated in discussion of definition and extent of “safe use” in this meeting and committed to continuing playing its role of A-level liaison organization and actively participating in setting of tems, techniques and international tool standards of acupuncture-moxibustion in ISO/TC24.
