F.</p><p style="text-align:justify;text-justify:inter-ideograph;text-indent:47px"><span style="color:blue">&nbsp;</span></p><p style="text-align:justify;text-justify:inter-ideograph"><span style="color:blue">&nbsp;</span></p><p style="text-align:justify;text-justify:inter-ideograph;text-indent:47px"><strong>Objectives</strong><strong>:</strong> To observe the therapeutic effect of treating traumatic injury by acupuncture. The patient O.D.M, 74 years old, male, retired, checked in at the health center reporting that in October 15^th, 2006, while he was building a fence, he had cut his left leg calf with the barbed wire. The patient had a wound of 15 cm in this region, intense pain, limitation of his movement amplitude and needing to use crutches to stroll. During this period it was performed a clinical treatment using Neomisina ointment and antiinflammatory. He had to be removed to the Hospital’s Emergency several times during the day to take intravenous medicines to relieve the pain. The patient of this study showed high arterial blood pressure 180/100mmhg in the evaluation, and he is also a tobacco smoker. During the previous 9 months he began a tissue recomposition treatment to improve the healing of the injury in the leg, but he was still feeling a daily and intense pain.</p><p style="text-align:justify;text-justify:inter-ideograph;text-indent:47px"><span style="color:blue">&nbsp;</span></p><p style="text-align:justify;text-justify:inter-ideograph;text-indent:47px"><strong>Method</strong><strong>s</strong><strong> and results:</strong> The patient was evaluated and treated at the Materno and at the Vila Guaira health centers, in Goioerê, Paraná. The treatment took about four months, and in the 2nd session the pacient was not presenting pain in the affected area of his leg. In the second month of the treatment he was not using crutches and he had already showed an increasing movement amplitude. The patient of the present study showed high arterial blood pressure in the evaluation and also tobaccoism, but with the performed treatment, there was an improvement of the blood pressure quality, changing from an average of 180/100mmhg, to 130/80mmhg. Concerning the tobaccoism, the patient was smoking a box of cigarettes everyday, and now with the treatment, he smokes just a daily cigarette. The proposed and performed treatment not only releaved his pain, but the process of scarring too. In the beginning the injury had 15 cm, and in the end of the treatment it had 3 cm. According to the objectives <span style="color:red">estipulated</span> by the professional in charge, the treatment consisted in 30 sessions of acupuncture, performing 3 sessions of 20 minutes a week. It was performed Systemic Acupuncture at the inferior left member, with the objective to improve the scarring and mainly releave the pain. In the same treatment it was performed puncturations to control the blood pressure and the tobaccoism.</p><p style="text-align:justify;text-justify:inter-ideograph"><strong><span style="color:blue">&nbsp;</span></strong></p><p style="text-align:justify;text-justify:inter-ideograph"><strong>Conclusion:</strong> The physiotherapeutic treatment with acupuncture technics brought a beneficial influence in the reported case, demonstrating that the acupuncture can be used for many other pathologies.</p><p><br/></p>
