Twelve Chinese Anti-Epidemic Experts Went to Laos
Requested by the Laotian Government, the Chinese anti-epidemic experts went to Luang Prabang Province, in north Laos, and Champasak Province, in south Laos, for international cooperation in the battle of COVID-19 on April 7. During their stay, the experts will conduct joint survey with their counterparts, help the medical institutions to improve their hospitalization protocols, provide lab testing facilities and reagents, as well as give guidance and training to their medical workers.
On April 6, the experts gave training courses to the medical workers of Health Ministry and the hospitals in Vientiane.
The first confirmed case in the Laos was found on March 24 and there were 14 confirmed cases as of April 7. The expert team, consisting of 12 members, was organized by the National Health Ministry and selected in Yunnan. They are from the Yunnan Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention, the First Hospital of Yunnan, Yunnan TCM Hospital. They are specialized in infectious disease, ICU, nursing, testing and TCM. The team set out with a donation of medical equipment, PPE and drugs of TCM and western medicine.
