Abstract: Inflammatory bowel disease is a group of chronic non-specific intestinal inflammatory diseases, including Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC). Inflammasome, as a kind of macromolecular compound protein, plays an important role in the development of inflammation and the innate immunity of the body. NLRP3 plays a bidirectional role in the development of inflammatory bowel disease and in maintaining intestinal homeostasis. This paper reviews the progress of NLRP3 inflammatory mediators in IBD and the possible mechanism of acupuncture and moxibustion, and provides a new idea for the clinical and mechanism research of acupuncture and moxibustion treatment of inflammatory bowel disease.
