Abstract:Objective: To explore the effect difference between twirling-rotating reinforcing and reducing technique of acupuncture on Cerebellum NE and 5-HT in Spontaneously Hypertensive rats (SHR) andits protectivemechanism. Methods: Fifty male 9-week-old SHR rats were randomly divided into 4 groups: normal group, model group, needle retaining group, twirling-rotating reinforcing group,twirling-rotating reducing group, 10 per group.Acupuncture was not used in normal and control group, only with grasp, capture and binding stimulation that was also adapt in the rest groups. Needle retaining group was treated with acupuncture at “Taichong“ (LR3 ) without any technique and retaining for 10 min .Twirling-rotating reinforcing group and twirling-rotating reducing group were treated with Twirling-rotating reinforcing and reducing techniques respectivelyat (LR3 ) and retaining for 10 min. Before and after acupuncture, blood pressure monitor was used to measure the blood systolic pressure. 28 days after treatment, taking the cerebellum, Elisa was used to detect norepinephrine and serotonin in the cerebellum. Results: The systolic blood pressure of the model rats wassignificantly higher than that of the normal group (P<0.05). Since 3 days after treatment, the blood pressure in needle retaining group, twirling-rotating reinforcing group,twirling-rotating reducing groupdecreased than that of model group (P <0.05);Compared with the normal group, the content of NE and 5 - HT in the cerebellum of model group, needle retaining group, twirling-rotating reinforcing group,twirling-rotating reducing groupwere significantly increased (P <0.05);Compared with model group, the contents of NE and 5-HT in needle retaining group, twirlingrotating reinforcing group,twirling-rotating reducing group were significantly decreased (P <0.05);Compared with needle and twirling-rotating reinforcing group,twirling-rotating reducing group NE decreased significantly (P<0.05). Conclusion: Acupuncture twirling-rotating reinforcing and reducing technique can effectively reduce the systolic blood pressure of SHR rats. The antihype rtensive effect of acupuncture and diarrhea was related to the contents ofnorepinephrine(NE) and 5-HT (5-HT), and the regulation effect of twirling-rotating reinforcing and reducing technique were different.
