Abstract: Objective: Purpose To compare therapeutic effects of acupuncture and moxibustion therapy method and routine acupuncture on Intractable facial paralysis. Methods: fifty-eight cases were randomly divided into a treatment group (30cases) and a control group (28cases). The treatment groups were treated with acupuncture and moxibustion therapy; the control groups were treated with twirling uniform reinforcing-reducing method. After treatment for 3 course,their therapeutic effects were compared. Results: The cured-markedly effective rate and the effective rate were 86.67% and 100% in the treatment group 64.29% and 85.71% in the control group. With a very significant difference in the cured-markedly effective rate (P<0.01) and with a significant difference in the effective rate (P<0.05) between the two groups. Conclusion: The therapeutic effect of the treatment group is significantly better than that of the control group after cure.
