Therapeutic Study of Chinese Medicine and AcuMoxibustion on AIDS

Abstract: Objective: To explore the harmoniously herbal and Acu-Moxibustion (mox) treatment fromTraditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) on AIDS / HIV sero-positive antibody together with antiretroviral remedy HAART, the study is engaged in the relationship between TCM herbal remedy and anti-HIV chemotherapy,and even the systemic mechanism of herbal pharmacology and mox treatment of antiAIDS/HIV. Methods: These analyses were carried out in the previous works on various medical institutions referring to AIDS / HIV in China and the relative areas. A series of TCM diagnoses of HIV terms, the effective mechanism of TCM herbal and mox treatment with syndromes diagnosis of differentiation and practical scheme on AIDS cases were included in the paper. Results: The data presented that the effective trend of TCM herbal remedy and mox obviously is to enhance the immunity system and general health of cases with AIDS / HIV, delaying the natural course of HIV infection and even decreasing the side-effective reaction after antiretroviral remedy of anti-HIV chemotherapy. And it harmoniously improves the efficacy of anti-HIV involved the routine medicines, and helps the advanced living of patients with AIDS, as compared with those without TCM therapy. Conclusions: The significant fact shows that a lot of TCM herbal recipes reduce HIV viral load level and increase the level of the lymphocyte CD+4 count or even that of CD+45RA from the central T stem lymphocytes by culturing the positive metabolism and replenishing blood-Qi flow as well as balancing the T cell- mediated immuno-types between Th1 and Th2. It suggests that TCM herbal and mox therapy is one of noteworthy helper for both anti-HIV infection and health-enhancing life- span of those with AIDS / HIV infection.
