Abstract: Spinal cord injury is a kind of serious damaged disease of the central nervous system. There is certainly effect of electro-acupuncture therapy on the restoration of neural function in promoting after injury, but it is the multiple effect on structure and function of the spinal cord, which mechanism is complicated. Research focus on two aspects: to reduce the secondary lesion; and to restorate and regenerate the damaged neurons. There are internal factors related to the nerve restoration with neurotrophic factors as well as neurite outgrowth inhibitor and so on. Experimental research shows that it has correlation between the electro-acupuncture and neural restoration related factors, and the regulation ways are different. Now it will be reviewed as follows that the research progress of effect of electro-acupuncture on neural restoration related factors after spinal cord injury in recent years.
