President of Mauritius meets the delegation of experts on TCM&Acupuncture from the World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies (WFAS)
In support of State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine of the People’s Republic of China and China Association for Science and Technology, “One Belt One Road” activities of WFAS has entered Mauritius. On the morning of 28th April, 2017, Mauritius President Ameenah Gurib-Fakim met with the delegation of experts on TCM&Acupuncture from WFAS in accompany with Chinese Ambassador to Mauritius Lee Li.
Mauritius President Fakim spoke highly for STATEMENT OF INTENT IN THE FIELD OF TCM&ACUPUNCTURE BY WORLD FEDERATION OF ACUPUNTURE-MOXIBUSTION SOCIETIES, CHINA ACADEMY OF CHINESE MEDICAL SCIENCES AND MINISTRY OF HEALTH IN MAURITIUS signed on the morning of 28th April and looked forward to its implementation. High praise was also given for days of academic exchanges and voluntary medical consultations conducted by the delegation. She added that Mauritius gives strong support for traditional medicine including TCM&Acupuncture due to large need,hoping that China appoint excellent TCM&Acupuncture physicians, build TCM centers,carry out training and exchanges and offer TCM service for the local public..
WFAS President Liu Baoyan expressed his gratitude to president’s meeting with the delegation and introduced the general situation and latest scientific achievements etc.of TCM as well. Being a renowned international botanist, President Fakim showed a keen interest in TCM. Referring to Tu Yoyo’s winning the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for developing artemisinin in 2015, she said that she did visit Tu Yoyo’s lab in China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences and was keen to build cooperation with China in the field of traditional medicine and make joint development of rich traditional medicine resources in Africa to benefit the two peoples.
On morning of 27th April, President of WFAS Liu Baoyan, Vice President of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences Yang Longhui and Minister of Health of Mauritius Anil Kumarsingh -Gayan held working talks in accompany with Chinese Ambassador to Mauritius Lee Li, during which discussions about co-development of TCM&Acupuncture trainings, academic exchanges,case registration system and promotion of TCM center have conducted,a consensus has reached and a trilateral statement of intent has signed.
Director of the Policy-study Room of Chinese Ambassy in Mauritius Ren Fangwei, President of World TCM Forum Dong Zhilin, Vice Secretary of WFAS Yang Yuyang and President of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture and Massage Association Li Ming also attended the talks..
