The World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies( brief in WFAS) held the 9th General Assembly of WFAS&2017 World Acupuncture Congress of WFAS Press Conference in Beijing, China on 5th July, which guests including Division Chief Yu Yonglong of Administration of Social Organizations, Ministry of Civil Affairs of PRC, Vice President of CACMS Wang Shenhe, Deputy Division Chief Ma Ninghui of Department of International Cooperation of SATCM, Deputy Director Feng Lei of News Center of CACMS, Member of the Standing Committee of Qujiang District and Director of Publicity Department Wu Desheng from Zhejiang Province and President of Beijing Yidian Investment Co., Ltd. Zhao Dong as well as 16 media including CCTV, People’s Web, Huangqiu Web, People’s Daily,China Daily, Health News, China News of TCM attended. The meeting was hosted by Vice President and Secretary-General of China Association of Acupuncture-Moxibustion(CAAM) Yu Xiaochun. President of WFAS and CAAM Liu Baoyan made a speech about the background and preparations of the 9th General Assembly of WFAS&2017 World Acupuncture Congress of WFAS,introducing the form and highlights of the 30th Anniversary of WFAS to be held in Dec. and replying to reporters.

　　This year is the 30th anniversary of the founding of WFAS. Therefore the 9th General Assembly of WFAS&2017 World Acupuncture Congress of WFAS and Annual Symposium of CAAM 2017 are going to be held from 2nd to 4th Dec. in Beijing. Hosted by WFAS, CACMS and WHO and organized by CAAM and Acupuncture-Moxibustion Institute of CACMS, the World Health Conference of Acupuncture and Moxibustion is going to be held from 6th to 7th, Dec. as an extension of the general assembly in Qujiang. 　　WFAS was officially established in Beijing, China on 22th, Nov, 1987, whose Secretariat was settled in Beijing, China. Going through 30 years of struggles and efforts regardless of rains and winds, WFAS is always committed to global spread and development of acupuncture-moxibustion of TCM and active organization of high-level academic exchanges, scientific research, education&training and clinical research, covering 183 countries and regions. These achievements gain widespread concern and support from Chinese government and international community. WFAS built official non-governmental relations with the World Health Organization(WHO) in 1998 and A-level liaison with the International Organization for Standardization(ISO) in 2010. Today’s WFAS has grown into an international association that represents common interests of global 100000 acupuncture-moxibustion practitioners with 200 society members and 18 working committees.

　　President Liu Baoyan said that looing back and concluding WFAS 30 years’s of development, our acupuncture-moxibustion of TCM has become the world’s acupuncture-moxibustion to convoy human health. This year is the 30th anniversary of WFAS. To celebrate this important moment, we are going to hold an academic feast with the theme of “acupuncture-moxibustion-world-health”, including main meeting site in Beijing and venue in Qujiang, to exhibit global academic research results and developing status of past 30 years to the whole world. Meanwhile, WFAS is going to establish and announce “World Outstanding Contribution to Acupuncture-moxibustion Award- Tinasheng Copper Man Award” to encourage and manifest person or events with outstanding achievements on global acupuncture-moxibustion,  promoting global spread and scientific progress through the form of encouragement.

　　Conforming to the new era of internet and big data,WFAS is preparing to initiate construction of  the “World Acupuncture-moxibustion Museum” project and platform of acupuncture-moxibustion societies web. Construction of Acupuncture-moxibustion Museum had become an important tactics of spread and development of acupuncture-moxibustion, whose facility is divied into two stages of digital acupuncture-moxibustion museum and physical acupuncture-moxibustion museum. Global investigation and collection of cultural relics have started. China Pavilion and other pavilions and publicity and education net for acupuncture-moxibustion with integration of virtual and physical cultural relics online-offline interactions will be established though internet and VR technology. The establishment and promotion of acupuncture-moxibustion societies web will break the limitation of time and space and change the inaccessible status of communications among global acupuncture-moxibustion doctors and connections among acupuncture-moxibustion societies to transform information islet into information thoroughfare. The 1st-phase achievement of digital acupuncture-moxibustion pavilion and app of acupuncture-moxibustion societies web will make their debut at the 2017 World Acupuncture Congress of WFAS in Dec..

　　Afterwards President Liu Baoyan replied respectively to reporters from Health News, China News of TCM and People’s Daily, concerning topics like review and reward mechanism of “World Outstanding Contribution to Acupuncture-moxibustion Award- Tinasheng Copper Man Award”, construction and usage planning of future acupuncture-moxibustion museum. We will discuss and share situation and existing circumstances of acupuncture-moxibustion of TCM’s 30 years of development at home and abroad, present challenges in global development of acupuncture-moxibustion such as international hot issue “dry needle”phenomenon, future development of acupuncture-moxibustion subject and solutions to these challenges at the 2017 World Acupuncture Congress of WFAS in Dec..
