WFAS ´The Belt and Road’ Tour of Acupuncture-Moxibustion in Poland Krakow Achieves Great Success
WFAS ´The Belt and Road’(B&R) Tour of acupuncture-moxibustion(Poland)--- human intangible cultural heritage ‘acupuncture-moxibustion exhibition’ opening ceremony was held at Confucius Institute in Krakow successfully on 12th October 2017, which was hosted by WFAS, Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Confucius Institute in Krakow, and co-organized by China Association of Acupuncture-Moxibustion, China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and other associations. This exhibition fully showed the early history of acupuncture-moxibustion culture, meridians and acupoints, diagnosis and treatment techniques, health maintenance, and modern development, allowing the Polish people to feel the profound heritage of traditional Chinese medical culture and to appreciate the mystery of acupuncture-moxibustion in a close distance.
Deputy Secretary and Academic Department Director Wen Biling, President of Polish Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine Marek Kalmus, Chinese President of Confucius Institute in Krakow Han Xinzhong attended the opening ceremony of the Polish 2nd station of ‘Acupuncture-Moxibustion exhibition’ in Krakow. Wen Biling introduced the application situation of acupuncture-moxibustion in countries all around the world, expressing that R&B provides a unprecedented opportunity for the spread of acupuncture and moxibustion overseas, and hoping that through all kinds of activities to promote TCM traditional humanities and acupuncture-moxibustion techniques, and to build up a cultural exchange bridge between Chinese and Polish people. Thus, people’s health and well of two countries could be enhanced and win-win situation could be achieved through cooperation. Kalmus affirmed the importance of acupuncture-moxibustion in promoting disease prevention and human health, and introduced the historical origins between city Krakow and Chinese medicine by telling stories about himself learning Chinese medicine, hoping that the Polish people could know furthermore about Chinese medicine acupuncture-moxibustion through this exhibition. Teachers from Confucius Institute in Krakow, teachers and students of Jagiellonian University, and local people also attended the opening ceremony.
After the opening ceremony, the China Association of Acupuncture-Moxibustion gifted Chinese medicine books to the Confucius Institute in Krakow and the Polish Association of Chinese Medicine, and met with the representatives from the Jagiellonian University Medical College. The two sides discussed issues concerning the feasibility of building Chinese medicine acupuncture-moxibustion center in Krakow university and carrying out training and teaching.
