On August 12, 2026, local time, the Fourth Session of the Tenth Executive Committee of the World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies (WFAS) was held in Switzerland. More than 80 participants from over 40 countries and regions, including China, Vietnam, Singapore, Germany, Poland, the United Kingdom and the United States, attended the session, among them Vice Presidents, Executive Committee Members and relevant staff of the Secretariat. Dr David P.J. Hung, Honorary President for Life of WFAS, attended the session, which was chaired by WFAS President Liu Baoyan.

WFAS Secretary-General Yang Jinsheng and Executive Committee Member Yu Xiaochun respectively presented the 2025 Work Report of the WFAS Secretariat and the 2025 Financial Report of the WFAS Secretariat to the Executive Committee. The session heard reports on the progress in developing the Blue Book on Evidence of Clinical Research on Acupuncture (2024–2026), the collection of materials for WFAS’s 40th anniversary and the publication of a commemorative academic monograph, as well as preparations for the transition and election of the Eleventh Executive Committee. The session also discussed proposals on including Tuina in the scope of WFAS international standards development, revising the WFAS Constitution, conducting an analysis of acupuncture under the WHO Global Traditional Medicine Strategy 2025–2034, and organizing international training programs. It reviewed and adopted the Investment Management Measures and the Management Measures for Working Committees (2026 Revision). Executive Committee Member (Switzerland) Li Yiming, President of TCM Ming Dao, Switzerland, and Executive Committee Member (China) Yu Xiaochun, President of the China Association of Acupuncture-Moxibustion, respectively reported on preparations for the WFAS 2026 International Symposium on Acupuncture-Moxibustion and the 2027 World Conference on Acupuncture-Moxibustion. Vice Presidents and Executive Committee Members from Vietnam, Poland, Canada, the Philippines, the United States, the United Kingdom and other countries actively exchanged views on the future development of WFAS.

The session noted that WFAS had made significant progress in all areas of work over the past year and had continued to play an active role in promoting global exchange and cooperation in acupuncture-moxibustion and facilitating the integration of acupuncture into mainstream medicine. The session pointed out that only one year remains in the term of the Tenth Executive Committee and that preparations for the transition and election of the next Executive Committee are both pressing and of great importance. It emphasized the need to further revise and improve the transition plan in strict accordance with the requirements of the relevant authorities in the country where WFAS is headquartered, and to advance preparations in a steady and orderly manner, so as to ensure the successful convening of the Eleventh General Assembly and the completion of the transition and election process next year.

The successful convening of the Fourth Session of the Tenth Executive Committee clarified the key tasks and development priorities for the next stage and laid a solid foundation for the transition and election of the Eleventh Executive Committee and the coordinated advancement of activities marking the 40th anniversary of WFAS. Participants expressed their shared commitment to building consensus and working together to advance the preservation, innovation and integrated development of acupuncture-moxibustion worldwide.
