On the morning of September 3, Yang Jinsheng, Secretary-General of the World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies (WFAS), met in Beijing with Reginaldo Filho, WFAS Executive Committee Member (Brazil) and Dean of the Brazilian College of Chinese Medicine (Faculdade EBRAMEC), and his delegation. The meeting focused on acupuncture-moxibustion education and clinical practice.

Yang Jinsheng extended a warm welcome to Reginaldo Filho and his delegation and briefly introduced the latest developments in acupuncture-moxibustion in China. He noted that, in recent years, the number of acupuncture-moxibustion practitioners in China has continued to grow, and a multi-level and diversified professional workforce has taken shape, providing strong human-resource support for the preservation and innovation of acupuncture-moxibustion. WFAS will continue to provide strong support for the development of the Brazilian College of Chinese Medicine and offer more resources and platforms for education and training, academic exchange, and standards promotion. In 2027, WFAS will carry out the transition and election of its Eleventh Executive Committee and organize a series of activities marking its 40th anniversary. He sincerely invited Reginaldo Filho to take an active part in the relevant work and attend the activities, and to join WFAS in advancing the international development of acupuncture-moxibustion.

Reginaldo Filho gave a detailed account of the development of the Brazilian College of Chinese Medicine over the past 25 years. He noted that Brazil formally enacted legislation regulating the professional practice of acupuncture this year, marking an important milestone in the history of acupuncture development in Brazil and carrying far-reaching significance for the country's acupuncture community. The Brazilian College of Chinese Medicine has maintained close ties with WFAS and actively participated in its academic activities. It will continue to serve as a bridge in the education of traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture-moxibustion and promote their wider dissemination in Brazil.

During the visit, Reginaldo Filho and his delegation also observed the full process of internet-based medical consultation, gaining a systematic understanding of the operating mechanisms and current development of online medical services. They spoke highly of China's innovative practices in “Internet Plus Healthcare.”

Faculty representatives of the Brazilian College of Chinese Medicine and staff members of the General Department of the WFAS Secretariat also attended the meeting.
